Wes Luke

Wes Luke is a violinist in the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and the Madison Symphony Orchestra. He was named the Madison Area Music Association’s 2019 “Classical Performer of the Year”. During this last season, the string quartet he serves as first violin, the Ancora String Quartet, completed a highly successful and critically acclaimed tour of southern Germany and the upper Midwest U.S., working with German mezzo soprano Melinda Paulsen, which included live performance on Wisconsin Public Radio. He inaugurated both the Avanti Piano Trio and the Madison New Music Ensemble’s first seasons this year, and his other piano-based chamber ensemble, the Mosaic Chamber Players, which recently completed its recital series survey of the complete Beethoven sonatas for strings and piano, incorporated as a non-profit. Wes is the Concertmaster of the LaCrosse (WI) Symphony Orchestra, and has performed as a concerto soloist with the group on multiple occasions. He holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin and the New England Conservatory.
