Michael Chien is a recent graduate from the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Masters in Music program under the tutelage of Ivan Zenaty. Born and raised in Cos Cob, CT, Michael began his violin studies at age 9. The wonderful experiences he had performing in Carnegie Hall with the New York Youth Symphony while studying with Lewis Kaplan from the Juilliard School led him to pursue a Bachelors in music degree at Vanderbilt University, where he studied Music Performance and Economics. Other mentors include Connie Heard, Spring Berv, and Bill Preucil. Currently, Michael teaches as a faculty member of the Aurora School of Music and studies with Peter Otto of The Cleveland Orchestra, while performing regularly with the Canton, Akron, and other orchestras in the area.
