Born in Osaka, Japan, Kelly Talim began studying the violin at the age of seven, making her solo debut with the Oregon Symphony five years later. Kelly has since performed with the Sendai Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Montgomery Symphony, and the Kobe City Chamber Orchestra, among others. A laureate of the Cooper International Competition and the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, she has given solo, concerto, and chamber performances in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Benaroya Hall across the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Korea, and Japan. An avid chamber musician, she has made appearances at Juilliard’s ChamberFest as well as International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove. In 2014, Kelly was featured in HBO: Masterclass with Joshua Bell which was aired on American national television.
Kelly holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Columbia University in the City of New York and is currently pursuing her graduate degree at The Juilliard School under the tutelage of Li Lin. She previously studied with Cyrus Forough and has worked with renowned artists such as Arnold Steinhardt, Shmuel Ashkenasi, James Ehnes, and Vadim Gluzman at the Stradivarius Society in Chicago.
