Evan Sherman

Drummer, bandleader, and arranger Evan Sherman has recorded and toured internationally in the bands of Ron Carter, Cyrus Chestnut, Roy Hargrove, Jimmy Heath, Branford & Wynton Marsalis, the Dizzy Gillespie All-Stars, and with his contemporaries Samara Joy and Emmet Cohen. A native of New Jersey, Evan started on a toy set at age 5 and began playing professionally at age 13, leading him to perform on prestigious stages on four continents. In 2014, he founded the Evan Sherman Big Band, which has headlined at Lincoln Center, Blue Note, Birdland, Rainbow Room, and the Perth International Arts Festival. The big band recently recorded Duke Ellington’s Queen’s Suite for Queen Elizabeth II, in celebration of her 2022 Platinum Jubilee. Recently, Evan was featured on NBC’s Today Show (2020) and released a quintet album, Sidewalkin’ (2021).
