Violist Erica Gailing, a native New Yorker, began her studies on the violin at the age of 5. Most recently, she has performed with the New York City Ballet and has played at venues across New York City on both the violin and viola. Erica received a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College under the direction of Daniel Phillips and a Master of Music degree in viola from the Juilliard School, as a student of Cynthia Phelps and Toby Appel. She spent time in Miami performing with the NuDeco Ensemble and the New World Symphony, where she frequently served as principal violist and was an active member of their Community Engagement Committee. Erica has performed at Sarasota Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, Spoleto Festival USA and the Tanglewood Music Center.
