Currently based in Los Angeles, violist Nao Kubota holds a bachelor of music degree from New England Conservatory, where she studied with Dimitri Murrath. Passionate about performing and sharing music with various audiences around the world, Nao has performed on concert halls in Japan, Ireland, and the United States, such as on Carnegie Hall in New York, Symphony Hall and Jordan Hall in Boston, Orchestra Hall in Detroit, and recently made her Walt Disney Concert Hall debut in Los Angeles performing world premiere works as part of a flute, viola, and percussion trio. Nao has been a first prize winner in the MASTA Chamber Music Competition, SHAR String Quartet Competition, the Beverly Hills National Auditions as part of Delirium Musicum, a conductorless chamber orchestra in Los Angeles, as well as recently being a finalist in the 2018 Solo Bach Competition at USC. Nao is currently pursuing a master of music degree at USC Thornton School of Music, as a student of Karen Dreyfus.
