Zachary Pulse is a musician and teaching artist based in the Hudson Valley of New York. A champion of new music, he has commissioned several works that exhibit the oboe and the voice. His duo, So Much Hot Air — with mezzo-soprano, Jennifer Beattie — is in residence with the Fall 2023 Yale College Composition Seminar. At home, Zach and his partner, Max, host artist residencies and salon concerts at the Fishkill Ridge Creative Arts Retreat. As a complement to his musical life, Zach enjoys reading, vegetarian cooking, gardening, and hiking with his dogs. He holds degrees from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, the University of Michigan, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
