Ben Kronk is a sought-after violinist based in Austin. He is the top prize winner for the 2022 American Opera Society of Chicago Scholarship Competition and the Austin Civic Orchestra competition, and recently competed in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition this past May. He appeared as soloist with the National Repertory Orchestra performing Prokofiev’s 2nd Violin Concerto under maestro Michael Stern and has also soloed with the Toccoa Symphony, the Caroga Lake Music Festival, Central Texas Medical Orchestra and the Austin Civic Orchestra. He started the SouthEastern Young Artists Inc. (SEYA), a chamber music festival in 2018 in Georgia and is a member of the Iris Orchestra under Michael Stern, the Artosphere Festival Orchestra plays with the Chicago Philharmonic Society, Folks’ Operetta, the Wisconsin Philharmonic, the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, and acts as substitute with the Austin Symphony. Currently he is also a founding member of the SoundMap Ensemble.
