Brennen Taggart is a Bassist – Composer from Lexington, Kentucky. He currently studies at the Cleveland Institue of Music (CIM) under the tutelage of Charles Paul (bass) and Keith Fitch (composition). Taggart has recently premiered his Bass Concerto No. 1 and is working on completing a symphonic song cycle for soprano and orchestra. Brennen has the honor of being the first bassist to win the CIM Concerto Competition and is playing the Tubin Concerto with the CIM orchestra in the Fall of 2026. He has composed many pieces for festival orchestras, notably: “Yggdrasil” & “Viṣṇu” for the Chautauqua Festival Orchestra and a bass quartet for the National Youth Orchestra of America.
