Ellen Gruber is an avid freelance oboist and acoustic consultant in New York City. She has played with renowned ensembles such as the New York Philharmonic and the Baltimore Symphony. She has also made appearances with the York Symphony Orchestra, the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, and is a regular member of the Regina Opera Company.

Ellen has attended a number of festivals, including the Hidden Valley Festival of Winds, Interharmony, and the Eastern Music Festival, and will be a member of the Endless Mountain Music Festival in Corning, NY this coming summer.

Ellen received her master’s degree in Orchestral Oboe Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She previously received degrees in oboe performance, recording, and acoustics from the Peabody Conservatory. Her teachers and mentors include Sherry Sylar, Nicholas Stovall, Jane Marvine, and Lisa Kozenko.
