“Violist Erica Gailing, a native New Yorker, began her musical studies at the age of five on the violin. Ms. Gailing was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami before returning to New York, where she held a one-year position with the New York City Ballet Orchestra. Prior to joining the Baltimore Symphony, Ms. Gailing also performed frequently with both the Pittsburgh Symphony and the New York Philharmonic.
Ms. Gailing received a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance as a Macaulay Honors Scholar from Queens College, and graduated from The Juilliard School with a Master of Music degree in Viola Performance. She has studied under the direction of Daniel Phillips, Toby Appel, Michael Klotz and Cynthia Phelps. Ms. Gailing joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 2023.”
