Lauren Peacock was appointed assistant principal cellist of the Alabama Symphony Orchestra in 2022. In addition to her orchestral performances, she is an active chamber musician throughout the city of Birmingham. Lauren also has a passion for music education and is adjunct faculty at The Alabama School of Fine Arts and maintains a private studio. Prior to her time in Alabama, Lauren was a fellow at The Orchestra Now at Bard College and also held the position of assistant principal cellist with the Glens Falls Symphony. She has attended prestigious summer programs including Tanglewood Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Colorado College Music Festival, and earlier this summer, she performed at the Anchorage Chamber Music Festival. Lauren completed a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Michigan with Richard Aaron and a Master of Music degree at the University of Texas at Austin with Bion Tsang.
