Luis Eduardo Bellorín is a Venezuelan-American violist praised for his “impossibly sweet tone” (San Francisco Classical Voice). A founding member of the Thalea String Quartet (2014–2021), he has performed internationally, collaborated with GRAMMY-winning ensemble Alarm Will Sound, and toured the United States with the acclaimed Sphinx Virtuosi. A top prize winner at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, he held residencies at the Caramoor Center (NY) and the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (Belgium). Now based in Austin, Texas, Luis is the newest violist of the Austin Symphony, a Sphinx MPower Artist Grant recipient, and co-founder of the conductorless ensemble Austin Unconducted.
