Lydia Feazell 2023

Lydia Feazell, known as Lolly, is a native Houstonian who has spent her summers at Caroga Lake since her high school years. Her parents, Jimmy and Nancy Simon, each members of the Houston Symphony, along with her teachers Harold Hess, a student of Ysaye, Fredell Lack, concert violinist, and Albert Meunzer, associate concertmaster of the Houston Symphony, inspired her to pursue a musical career. She earned a BME at the University of Houston and spent two summers at the Meadowmount School of Music in New York.

She began teaching in the Klein ISD and moved to the Spring Branch ISD until her retirement from public school. She taught at Memorial Middle School for 20 years where the orchestra earned the honor of being named Honor Orchestra of Texas four times in a row in the 1990s. In her retirement, she continues to serve as a private lesson teacher, adjudicator, and clinician along with extra joys of serving women as a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant.

She is a violinist who is an honorary member of MU OMICRON and holds professional memberships in ASTA, TMEA, TODA, and TRTA. She is on the Board of Directors for the Coda Mountain Academy in Fayetteville, WV and is thrilled to be a part of the Caroga Lake Music Festival.
