Max Reese 2024

Hailing from Philadelphia, Max Reese is currently performing with the Milwaukee Symphony for the 2023-24 season as assistant principal, Eb, and 2nd clarinet. He has additionally played with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Akron Symphony, and others. During the summers, he has been a fellow at the Round Top Festival Institute and the Brevard Music Center. As a chamber musician, Reese has performed with the Southeastern Young Artists in Gainesville, GA. Reese is an avid educator, having taught through the DePaul Community Music Division (Chicago), Ravinia Festival (Chicago), and his own private studio. Reese completed his undergraduate degree at the Oberlin Conservatory studying with Richard Hawkins, and his master’s degree with Stephen Williamson, principal clarinet of the Chicago Symphony.
