Whether on stage or online, cellist Nathan Chan brings energy, openness, and joy to his music-making. As Assistant Principal Cello of the Seattle Symphony and a Seattle Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, he’s passionate about building community through sound. Trained at Juilliard under Richard Aaron and holding a degree in economics from Columbia University, Nathan bridges artistic expression with a spirit of curiosity and connection. His “Chats for Change” series and genre-bending collaborations have brought classical music to over 35 million viewers worldwide. He has soloed with the San Francisco Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, and Albany Symphony, and performs regularly with the Archipelago Collective.
