Rebecca Benjamin, a native of Warsaw IN, is an active performer on both the violin and viola. A prizewinner of the 2025 Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition, Rebecca received the award for best performance of the commissioned work. An avid chamber musician, she is a violinist in the Abeo Quartet and has participated in numerous festivals and performances in the US and abroad. Rebecca is on the faculty of the Kneisel Hall Maine Students Program and began teaching there in the summer of 2022. She holds degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Yale School of Music, and the University of Delaware. Currently, Rebecca is pursuing her doctorate degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
