Violinist John Bian, born in St. Paul, MN, earned his Bachelor’s degree at Boston University studying under Yuri Mazurkevich where he was the grand prize winner of both the Solo Bach Competition and the Concerto Competition. He went on to complete his Master’s degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music with William Preucil, the concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra. John finished his schooling at the University of Michigan where he studied with David Halen and Yoonshin Song, concertmasters of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and Detroit Symphony Orchestra, receiving his Specialist Degree in 2018. This Fall, John will be joining the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra as a member of their violin section.
