As an enthusiastic orchestra player, Danbe Lee has appeared in numerous concerts. Her most recent experiences include Britten-Pears Orchestra(UK), Verbier Festival Orchestra(Switzerland), New World Symphony, and Shepherd Symphony Orchestra NY tour at Carnegie Hall with highly acclaimed conductors including Marin Alsop, Charles Dutoit, Valery Gergiev, Zubin Mehta, Gianandrea Noseda, Antonio Pappano, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Michael Tilson Thomas, and etc. She has been a regular substitute cellist for New World Symphony, Canton Symphony Orchestra and Akron Symphony Orchestra.
Ms. Lee has also appeared in chamber concerts throughout greater Houston area with Kinetic Ensemble, Texas New Music Ensemble, Shepherd School of Music and others, as well as concerts at festivals such as Texas Music Festival, Kent/Blossom Music Festival, and Yellow Barn.
Over the years, Danbe had worked with renown chamber coaches such as James Dunham, Norman and Jeanne Fischer, Kenneth Goldsmith, Peter Salaff, and Cavani String Quartet, and played in master classes with Ébène Quartet, Norman Fischer, Peter Stumf, and Natasha Brofsky. She is currently teaching students and performing in Houston after receiving her second master’s degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University this May. Prior to her move to Houston, she completed both BM and MM degrees at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Her major teachers include Desmond Hoebig and Stephen Geber, both former principal cellists of the Cleveland Orchestra.
