Delaney Myers

Violinist Delaney Meyers is a recent graduate of Oberlin Conservatory, where she studied modern and baroque violin with Marilyn McDonald, and is currently pursuing a master’s degree at East Carolina University with Ara Gregorian and Hye-Jin Kim. Meyers has performed in master classes for artists such as Paul Biss, Robert McDonald, Kikuei Ikeda, and David Finkel. She has worked with and played alongside ensembles and musicians such as The Cavani String Quartet, The St. Lawrence String Quartet, The Dover String Quartet, members of The Cleveland Orchestra, Emanuel Gruber, Peter Salaff, and Merry Peckham. Meyers has a passion for contemporary music, recently premiering and recording Melinda Wagner’s Tell It Slant, composed for the ensemble, as part of ECU’s NewMusicInitiative. Through the Chamber Music Connection in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio, Meyers participated in the St. Paul String Quartet competition, winning bronze, and the Fischoff Competition. She has appeared as a soloist with the Lancaster Festival Orchestra, and has performed in the Oberlin Dannenberg Honors recital and the Oberlin Orchestra’s 150th anniversary tour in Symphony Hall. Meyers has also performed in the Baldwin Wallace University Bach Festival as a baroque violinist. Last summer, she was awarded the music criticism writing fellowship with ClevelandClassical.com. Meyers is passionate about making connections in her community and engaging with audiences outside of the concert hall, notably through performances in non-traditional venues. She has participated in and organized several educational Children’s residencies as an associate of the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival and a member of Oberlin’s Conservatory Council. In addition to her performing and outreach pursuits, Delaney enjoys playing Haydn string quartets, canoeing, reading, and dancing.
