Violinist Dawning Welliver Vajdi is a native of Pennsylvania who now resides and performs in Indianapolis, Indiana. A recent graduate of the Jacobs School of Music, she completed her Masters of Music with Grigory Kalinovsky this past May. Her undergraduate career took place at Vanderbilt University, where she studied Violin Performance with Cornelia Heard and pursued minors in International Leadership and Development and Arabic Language. She has always been fascinated with the intersection between music, culture, and communication. An avid chamber musician, she performed with the Sileo Quartet for one year while pursuing a chamber music diploma under the tutelage of the Pacifica Quartet. In addition to her musical career, she is passionate about serving communities through grass-roots initiatives that work to bring about social transformation.
