Clarinetist Jung Kyu Song started to study clarinet at 18 and was accepted to the University of Seoul 2 years later, as a top student with full scholarship. He won several music competitions as a soloist in Korea and USA and studied with virtuoso Charles Neidich at Mannes School of Music (The New School) in NYC for his master’s degree. While he was studying in New York, he had many concerts in Carnegie Hall and at Lincoln Center as a soloist and principal orchestra player. Currently, he studies with Ayako Oshima at The Hartt School (University of Hartford) for his Doctoral degree. He is performing in a variety of music styles, so he has many concerts in chamber and orchestra music and as a solo clarinetist. His playing has been described as “the delight of the crowd” by The Daily Gazette.
