Zachary Travis is an active performer in the Hudson Valley and New York metro area. Having
just completed a three-year fellowship with The Orchestra Now at Bard College, he has
performed dozens of concerts at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Fisher Center at Bard
College, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space, Hudson
Hall, and many others.
In the recent past, Zachary has appeared as the principal horn of the Blue Ash/Montgomery
Symphony Orchestra as well as guest principal horn and assistant principal horn of the Kentucky
Symphony Orchestra, both organizations being based in the Cincinnati metro area. Zachary was
also a member of the Northern Winds Quintet based in Philadelphia which advanced to the
semi-final round of the Fischoff Chamber Music competition in 2021.
Zachary holds a Master’s of Music from the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of
Cincinnati, a Bachelor’s of Music from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University,
and a Professional Studies Certificate from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and
Dance. His primary teachers include Randy C. Gardner, Denise Tryon, and Shawn Hagen.
