Andy Liang 2024

After making his solo debut with the Oregon Symphony at the age of 11, violinist Andy Liang went on to perform in Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and Jordan Hall by the age of 15. A featured artist on NPR’s From the Top, Andy is currently in the First Violin Section of the Seattle Symphony. Andy is also a founding member of the KASA Quartet, grand prize winners of the Coltman Chamber Music Competition, who are known for their genre-defying performances that fuse classical repertoire with jazz, musical theater, folk, and pop standards. As part of the Young Professional String Quartet in Residence, Andy received his Artist Diploma from the University of Texas at Austin where he studied with the Miró Quartet. Additionally, he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University under the tutelage of Cho-Liang Lin.. Outside of music, Andy enjoys playing tennis, video games, and hanging out with his dog, Mango.
