Jason Kutz is a musician based in Madison, WI, playing, performing, teaching, and composing all styles of music. He is rooted in contemporary music and improvisation, often combining acoustic and classical piano styles with electronic synthesis. He studied recording technology and music business at UW-Oshkosh and completed his Master’s in Piano Performance at UW-Madison. Recent endeavors include the following: his trio, Mr. Chair, performed a reimagination of Rhapsody in Blue with the Madison Ballet; he released an album of completely improvised ambient/electronic music (Wonderporium); he released an operatic stage work of modernized Filipino art songs (Sirena); he produced an album of orchestral hip-hop (Spectaculous); and he acted as music director for his arrangement of South Pacific. He actively tours around the country, and in 2023 he completed his project playing 23 unique concerts.
