Often likened to an inflatable tube man, Eva Ding is a Shanghai-born, Auckland-raised, and New York-based flutist and multidisciplinary artist known for her dynamic stage presence. Her work spans intimate multimedia chamber productions rooted in AAPI and immigrant narratives to large-scale orchestral experiences designed to bring classical music into nightlife, unconventional spaces, and the hands of audiences who never thought it was for them. Eva is the founder and artistic director of Orchestra Q, a conductorless chamber orchestra based in Queens, NYC, and co-founder of KOE, a flute-cello duo commissioning works by AAPI and immigrant composers. Her performances range from playing with Jon Batiste at Carnegie Hall to opening the musical festivities for pro-wrestler Orange Cassidy at Independent Wrestling TV’s ‘Family Reunion. Offstage, she enjoys time with her poodle Chocco and cats Marigold and Peridot.
