Based in Hartford, Scott Brown serves as Instructor of Saxophone at Wesleyan University. A new music advocate, he frequently collaborates with composers, leading to several new works utilizing saxophone. He has recently performed with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Yale Philharmonia and the Atlanta Contemporary Music Collective. Scott is the soprano saxophonist of the Hierax Quartet, who recently won the national third prize in the MTNA Chamber Music Competition. Since their inception, Hierax has curated performances across New England.

He holds degrees from the University of Georgia and Florida State University and is currently a doctoral candidate at the Hartt School.
