With a passion for blending classical and popular music, violist and singer Alice Ping is unrestrained by any genre. Based in Los Angeles, Alice maintains an active freelancing career, performing frequently with the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra and Delirium Musicum Chamber Orchestra, and recently recorded the soundtracks for the second season of “The Orville” as well as Universal Picture’s film “Little.”
Television appearances include performing on Conan with Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, on The Today Show with Kelly Clarkson, and with Demi Lovato for YouTube’s Best.Cover.Ever series. She has repeatedly worked with acclaimed music director Rickey Minor, and has performed at the exclusive Clive Davis Grammy Party for the past 2 years with Grammy winners Ben Platt and Brandi Carlile. Alice can also be seen regularly as a string player on The Voice.
As a student of Roger Tapping, Alice received her Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School, and received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin under the tutelage of Roger Myers. Her success at incorporating contemporary singing and classical viola playing can be seen by the widespread popularity of the videos she posts on social media.
