Laurin Talese: Jazz Vocalist
August 18, 2021 @ 8:00 pm
Praised by the Chicago Tribune as “Some of the most luxuriant, sumptuously phrased jazz vocals you could hope to hear”, Laurin Talese has been captivating audiences with her pure tone and poignant lyrics since childhood. A classically-trained jazz vocalist, Laurin came to Caroga Lake in Fall 2020 to immerse herself in the beauty of the Adirondacks while working on her new album. Also in 2019, Laurin represented the United States as a cultural ambassador with American Music Abroad following in the footsteps of former Ambassadors Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington, and Dave Brubeck. Winner of the seventh annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, Laurin most recently performed with The Philadelphia Orchestra at the Mann Center.
