David Weiss is Assistant Principal Bass In South Florida Symphony and has also recently won a section bass position with the Bangor Symphony in Maine. David has also performed with the Vratsa Symphony in Bulgaria as acting Co-principal bassist during the 2024 season. David also enjoys playing with the Caroga Lake Music Festival. Prior experience includes being a former bassist in a number of orchestras in GA, some include the Columbus Symphony, Albany Symphony and more. David also performs occasionally with the Charleston Symphony and other ensembles as well. Degrees include a Masters from Temple, and an Artist Diploma from the McDuffie String Center. David’s passion for orchestra is also shared alongside a background in Musical Theatre. David plays shows as an A list substitute bassist at the Walnut St. Theater in Philadelphia. Former teachers include Nathaniel West, Joseph Conyers, Jeff Turner, and Daniel Tosky.
