Lydia Feazell, known as Lolly at Caroga Lake, is a native Houstonian who spent her summers at Caroga Lake, never to have met Kyle Price until 2013. Her grandparents lived in Gloversville and her grandfather owned a grocery store on Bleeker Street. Her father, Jimmy Simon, was born in Gloversville and moved to Houston to become the Principal Percussionist of the Houston Symphony. Lydia’s family spent summers at Caroga Lake. Every summer when Sherman’s hosted dance bands, Jimmy Simon was playing drums.
Lydia taught Orchestra in the public schools for 28 years where the Memorial Middle School orchestra earned the honor of being named Honor Orchestra of Texas four times in a row in the 1990s, and was invited to perform at the opening of the WWII Memorial in Washington DC. In her retirement, she continues to serve as a private lesson teacher, adjudicator, and clinician.
She is a violinist who is thrilled to be a part of the Caroga Lake Music Festival.
