Stephanie Fairbairn Ycaza is Assistant Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. A founding member of Calypsus Brass, she has also performed with the North Carolina Symphony, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Greensboro Symphony Orchestral, and numerous others. As a soloist, she has appeared at the International Tuba Euphonium Conference, the International Women’s Brass Conference, and multiple regional ITEA conferences. In 2024 and 2025, she published Mindful Musical Fundamentals for Tuba and Euphonium. She holds degrees from Shenandoah University (D.M.A.), Yale University (M.M. and Artist Diploma), and Virginia Commonwealth University, and is a Miraphone artist.
