Zachary Pulse is a musician and teaching artist based in the Hudson Valley. A champion of new music, he has commissioned and premiered several works for the oboe and the voice. His duo, So Much Hot Air — with mezzo-soprano, Jennifer Beattie — was recently in residence with the Yale College Composition Seminar. Zach performs regularly with the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Q, and the Oxalis Trio. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Howland Chamber Music Circle in Beacon, NY. As a complement to his musical life, Zach enjoys reading, vegetarian cooking, gardening, and hiking with his dogs. He holds degrees from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, the University of Michigan, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
